APPLY FOR A SCHOOL PLACE
Parents/guardians with children resident in Calderdale will need to apply for a school place online at www.calderdale.gov.uk/admissions
You can view or amend your online application throughout the preferencing period from 19 November 2021 until 15 January 2022. An automated email will be sent to you as acknowledgment of receipt once the application has been submitted. Parents/guardians may also request that the offer of a school place is received by email.
Offers of school places will be made on National Offer Day, which is Tuesday 19 April 2022.
Parents of children resident outside of Calderdale will need to submit their application to their home local authority.
If you have not applied for a place by the deadline, you will need to complete an ‘late application', as set out here:
Children start nursery class from the start of the school term following their third birthday.
You can work out the earliest date your child will be eligible for a place in Ferney Lee Nursery from the table below.
1 April 2019 – 31 Aug 2019
1 Sept 2019 - 31 Dec 2019
1 Jan 2020 - 31 March 2020
*Children born in April will start the following September no matter when Easter holidays actually fall.
All children are entitled to 15 hours a week of free childcare (“universal entitlement”) at a community school nursery (such as ours).
At Ferney Lee, we offer wrap-around care during term times, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 7:30 am and 6 pm. For more information please see our Wrap-Around Care page.
In addition to the universal entitlement of 15 hours (5x 3 hour sessions per week), we also accept the ‘extended entitlement’ of 15 hours for working families, and offer all children 15 discretionary hours in the nursery (these discretionary hours cannot be taken during wrap-around-care). Therefore, our early education offer is 30 hours free childcare to ALL families. The maximum offer to any child is 30 hours (10 sessions) combined entitlement per week.
Parents should expect to pay for additional services over and above the early education offer, such as meals, day trips and wrap-around care where needed.
If you want a place in our nursery for your child, or to look around, please contact our administrator Mrs Stansfield in the school office on 01706 254848
